New Year, New Intentions: A Gay AF Yoga Series

$111.00

New Year, new you? But why? You’re pretty dope as you are, so instead of making resolutions for 2025, let’s set intentions. This 3-week workshop will use journaling, movement, conversation and more to help you unearth your intention for the coming year and set you up to live how you want to. And because growth rarely happens without the support of community, we will take time to connect and share with each other throughout the process.

This workshop is open to anyone who identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community (not just the gays- come through ladies and theys!). Due to the community  based nature of the workshop, I ask that you commit to all three sessions, so no drop ins will be allowed.

When:
Wednesday January 8, 6:30-8:30pm

Wednesday January 15, 6:30-8:30pm

Wednesday Janaury 22, 6:30-8:30pm

Where:

Sakala Community Space- 1660 Gilpin Street, Denver CO

FAQ:

Why 3 sessions?

This process is iterative. In a yoga class when we are asked to set intentions, we do so in just a few breaths. This structure allows us to try different intentions and mantas on for size. You will really dig deep into what you want, the obstacles you face, and the things that light your fire. You’ll be asked to journal over the course of the workshop and share about what you notice.

What is the difference between an intention and a mantra?

For me, an intention is an invitation for a shift in my life. A mantra is a way that I remind myself of that intention. When I am making decisions I’ll return to my mantra and use it as a lens to help me find clarity. It helps me understand what is and is not aligned with my intention.

Why is this only open to LGBTQ people?

I think intentionally queer spaces are incredibly important to the growth and wellbeing of the LGBTQ community. Many of our spaces involve alcohol, sex, or partying, which is not a judgement (I enjoy all three!), so I want to create a sober space for authentic connection for people seeking similar experiences. Moving through the world as a queer person lends itself to a shared experience and vocabulary that is important to give space to.
